THE HAMILTON MIXTAPE is the follow-up album to the ground-breaking Hamilton cast recording. The mixtape, co-produced by Questlove and Black Thought for The Roots, is a collection of songs from the hit Broadway show covered and re-interpolated by some of today’s biggest music all-stars including Chance The Rapper, Sia, and Alicia Keys. “I really wanted the hip-hop community to embrace Hamilton because it’s a love letter to them” said Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. “It’s funny that this [mixtape] was my first idea, and now it’s come full cycle.”
With it’s dense, fun, and inspiring lyrics, The Hamilton Mixtape is destined to break the existing boundaries between hip-hop and Broadway. To quote Questlove, “This is a key moment for Broadway and for music.”
